About the position

The Controller at Holly Poultry will oversee the accounting department, leading a team of senior accounting professionals and a staff accountant. This role is crucial for managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the company's growth strategy. The Controller will also have opportunities for career advancement, including involvement in strategic meetings with senior leadership and potential management of additional departments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of two senior accounting professionals and one staff accountant.
• Manage inventory cost adjustments during monthly closes.
• Support year-end audits and collaborate with the Director of Finance.
• Oversee operational accounting functions, including accounts receivable and accounts payable in the future.
• Participate in monthly meetings with the CEO and executive leadership team to discuss financial results.
• Gain exposure to cash forecasting and treasury management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA designation is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in corporate or public accounting.
• Prior experience supervising accounting staff.
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Exposure to Canopy (ERP) is a plus.
• Limited tax accounting and compliance experience is a plus.
