About the position

The Controller at Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the company, including accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll, and compliance. This role ensures adherence to generally accepted accounting principles, Federal Acquisition Regulations, and international financial reporting standards, while also managing personnel and providing vital information for executive decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Manages personnel assigned to functional areas including hiring, training, assigning work, performance management, and pay administration.
  • Supervises work activities and provides troubleshooting of issues and guidance as needed.
  • Plans and directs the accounting and disbursement organizations functions.
  • Manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data necessary for accurate accounting of business results.
  • Directs the preparation of internal and external financial statements.
  • Coordinates the responses to the activities of external and internal auditors.
  • Provides executive management with information vital to decision-making processes.
  • Assesses functional areas, offering guidance and recommendations for improvement and new process implementation.
  • Evaluates and ensures compliance with strong internal control systems.
  • Evaluates and manages financial software implementations and upgrades.
  • Develops and monitors business performance metrics and forecasts.
  • Manages Federal Acquisition Register (FAR) required government and prime contract financial reporting.
  • Oversees parent or regulatory reporting.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Company, Department of Energy, Partner companies and others as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline.
  • Extensive professional financial experience.
  • Direct people management experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation/certification/license.
