About the position

The Controller at Wesley Enhanced Living is responsible for overseeing the organization's financial accounting practices, including financial reporting, accounts payable, and payroll services. This role involves providing leadership to the accounting department and ensuring accurate financial information is available to assist management in making informed economic decisions. The position is integral to maintaining compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations while fostering a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the corporate accounting department for accurate and timely financial management reports.
  • Develop new reports and tools to provide maximum value and insight for users of financial information.
  • Ensure accurate processing of accounts payable, petty cash, employee expense reports, and payroll.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Revenue Cycle Management for accounts receivable management.
  • Ensure corporate income tax compliance and timely completion of tax returns.
  • Maintain financial accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP.
  • Interface with the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors as needed.
  • Provide feedback and performance evaluations to accounting staff.
  • Make informed hiring decisions for the accounting department.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial management.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting software and financial analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Master's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
