About the position

The Controller at Cloud303, Inc. is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial management, reporting, and analysis of the company. This position ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements, compliance with regulatory standards, and effective internal controls. The Controller will collaborate with senior management to drive financial strategy and business decisions while leading the accounting team in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Provide financial reporting and insights to senior leadership and the board of directors.
  • Lead the budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to prepare annual budgets.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
  • Prepare financial forecasts and cash flow projections.
  • Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable tax, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead internal and external audits and ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Manage functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Payroll, and Treasury.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure timely completion of the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Manage the organization's cash flow, liquidity, and working capital.
  • Oversee banking relationships and manage short-term and long-term financing strategies.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.
  • Set goals and performance expectations for the team and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with the COO and senior management on strategic financial planning.
  • Lead efforts to identify and execute cost-saving initiatives and improve overall financial efficiency.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting software and financial systems.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
  • 7-10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or controller role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, Odoo, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
