About the position

The Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, including the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, maintaining internal controls, and managing the general ledger. This role requires a self-directed and experienced individual who can work independently while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting various audits. The Controller will also play a key role in budgeting and financial analysis, as well as maintaining fixed assets and lease accounting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and consolidate financial statements.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls.
  • Manage all aspects of the general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and receivable.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end analyses of various company entities.
  • Record accruals, prepaid, depreciation, and adjustments to the general ledger monthly.
  • Coordinate or assist with the budget process.
  • Research accounting issues for compliance with GAAP.
  • Assist external auditors and support various company audits.
  • Recommend and participate in the implementation of changes to accounting procedures and reports.
  • Maintain the company's fixed assets, including book and tax depreciation methods.
  • Track construction in process from capex requisition forms to implementation.
  • Support personal property tax returns for multiple states.
  • Support the lease accounting process.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of accounting theory and current developments and trends.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (documentation required).
  • Must meet ITAR definition of US Person (documentation required).
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all levels of employees and external agencies.
  • Knowledge of applicable information technology and systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Solid time management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Effective communication in English, both written and oral.
  • Perform general office and data entry duties.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new experiences.
  • Adhere to all Quality and Safety standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is desired.
  • 5 to 8 years' experience in the Accounting field is desired.
  • Experience with Dynamics / Great Plains is desired.
