We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our dynamic accounting and finance team. The Controller will oversee the general accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial transactions and reporting. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strong analytical abilities and extensive knowledge of accounting principles to effectively manage financial reports and forecasts. A CPA designation is required. In this role, the Controller will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. This includes preparing and reviewing journal entries, conducting monthly account reconciliations, and managing the recording of American Express transactions. The Controller will also maintain the fixed assets schedule and oversee the full accounts receivable cycle. Additionally, the Controller will provide insights and assistance in quarterly expense variance analysis, contribute to the preparation and maintenance of the company cash flow, and support external annual and interim audits. The role requires developing, updating, and enforcing accounting policies and procedures while collaborating with other departments to achieve overall team objectives. Compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies is essential, as is conducting ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare and review journal entries and conduct monthly account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations.
  • Manage the recording of American Express transactions and maintain the fixed assets schedule.
  • Oversee the full accounts receivable cycle.
  • Provide insights and assistance in quarterly expense variance analysis.
  • Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of the company cash flow.
  • Support external annual and interim audits.
  • Develop, update, and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve overall team objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • Working knowledge of Google Sheets.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
