The Alternative Investments & Manager Selection (AIMS) Group provides investors with investment and advisory solutions, across leading hedge fund managers, private equity funds, real estate managers, public equity strategies and fixed income strategies. The AIMS Group manages globally diversified programs, targeted sector-specific strategies, customized portfolios, and a range of advisory services. Our investors access opportunities through new fund commitments, fund-of-fund investments, strategic partnerships, secondary-market investments, co-investments, and seed-capital investments. With over 200 professionals across eight offices around the world, the AIMS Group provides manager diligence, portfolio construction, risk management, and liquidity solutions to investors, drawing on Goldman Sachs' market insights and risk management expertise. Controllers ensure that the firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated and public financial institution. In the Controllers Department, our professionals measure the profitability of, and risks associated with, every aspect of the firm's business. Controllers also ensure that the firm's activities are conducted in compliance with the regulations governing transactions in the financial markets. The investment accounting team within the Controllers Group is looking to add a Vice President level Manager in Dallas, TX
These responsibilities include investment and new product review, oversight of information prepared by third party administrators and ongoing design an execution of the control environment. The team works closely with other areas of AWM including investment, risk, client service, operations, technology, legal and compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage a team responsible for the preparation of various regulatory reports, compliance reports and reports to Board of Directors related to funds
Participate in new fund launches including the review of fund documentation (LPA/PPM/OM/Side Letters), fund set up, and vendor selection
Support team, department, and business managers on various special projects
Manage technology initiatives by providing scope of project, managing timeline, and coordinating testing
QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S. or above in accounting or related field
8+ years of experience
CPA with investment company experience preferred
Private equity experience preferable
Strong technical knowledge of accounting and financial reporting
Strong analytical/problem solving skills; detail orientated
Ability to work independently and as a key member of a team in a fast-paced environment under challenging deadlines
Excellent interal and communication skills
Skilled in use of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
