About the position

The Regulatory Controllers team at Goldman Sachs is seeking a motivated Vice President to support and analyze all external and internal regulatory reporting requirements. This role involves preparing daily net capital estimates, assisting in the monthly management review package, and ensuring compliance with SEC rules. The ideal candidate will drive initiatives to improve processes and workflows while leveraging data analysis tools to solve analytical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of daily net capital estimates
• Assist in the preparation of the monthly management review package and FOCUS report
• Review classifications for proper regulatory treatment
• Prepare and analyze the GSCO monthly capital estimate vs. actual comparison
• Prepare and review operational charges
• Analyze and explain variances
• Assist in projects that help streamline current workflows
• Assist in automation initiatives
• Prepare various reports to be sent to senior management summarizing specific Net Capital information
• Drive initiatives/projects to improve processes, procedures, and workflow
• Solve day-to-day analytical challenges leveraging various data analysis tools
• Become proficient in rule requirements impactful to the entity

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• 7+ years of related experience in public accounting or financial services firm required
• Knowledge of SEC Rules preferred
• Committed to a career in financial services
• Ability to work in a team under pressure
• Ability to interact and build relationships with people from different departments and levels of seniority
• Ability to use initiative and work accurately with minimum supervision
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office desktop applications
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
• Experience or interest in automation using code
