About the position

The Controls and Instrumentation Engineer at the Texas Institute of Electronics plays a crucial role in the development of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and processes. This position is integral to defining future roadmaps in semiconductor logic, memory, heterogeneous integration, and chip cooling, contributing to national security and economic growth through advanced technology.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to one or more of controls, instrumentation, custom circuit design, and fabrication for novel semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Assists in researching and procurement of various equipment sub-systems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, controls, or other relevant disciplines.
  • Two years' experience in electrical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, controls, or other relevant disciplines.
  • Goal-oriented with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work successfully in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, controls, or other relevant disciplines.
  • Experience working in a research or start-up environment.
  • Prior experience in nanofabrication, precision machine design, mechatronics, systems and controls, instrumentation, optical systems design.
