About the position

The Controls Engineer - Automation Engineer - Electrical Engineer position is a full-time, direct hire role focused on automation and control systems within manufacturing environments. The role requires expertise in PLC programming and project management, with a strong emphasis on electrical engineering principles and practices. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement control systems for automated manufacturing processes.
  • Program and test Siemens Step 7 (S7) PLCs and other PLCs such as Allen Bradley/Rockwell, Keyence, and Panasonic.
  • Manage projects related to controls engineering, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to specifications.
  • Control and integrate sensors, actuators, pneumatics, stepper/servo motors, and VFD drives into manufacturing systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize automation solutions and troubleshoot issues.
  • Maintain documentation and compliance with relevant standards such as NEC, UL, NEMA, CE, NFPA 79, and ISO/EN.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related Engineering Discipline.
  • 2+ years of Controls Engineering experience.
  • Strong PLC programming skills, particularly in Allen Bradley/Rockwell, Keyence, and Panasonic.
  • Proficient in RsLogix/Studio5000, AutoCAD, MS Office, and FactoryTalk View.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with automation components.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management methodologies.
  • Familiarity with additional automation technologies and standards.
