About the position

The Controls Engineer Co-Op and Internship at JR Automation offers students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the automation industry. Interns will assist experienced Controls Engineers in designing, building, programming, and deploying custom automated equipment and solutions. This role emphasizes learning and flexibility, providing a platform for interns to contribute positively to the company while developing their technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support other Controls Engineers.
• Troubleshoot wiring, pneumatic, and hydraulic circuits.
• Wire according to the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Install piping and hoses to customer and JR Automation standards.
• Learn and perform basic programming skills.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college program pursuing an engineering degree.

Nice-to-haves

• Basic proficiency in CAD.
• Basic knowledge of electrical/pneumatic schematic drawing packages.
• Basic proficiency in programming languages.
