About the position

The Electrical Controls Engineer at Viskase Companies, Inc. is responsible for overseeing automation projects and process control systems. This role involves project planning, risk management, documentation, and project closure, with a strong focus on PLC and SCADA/HMI systems. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise and project management skills, along with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for full-time design and documentation of production equipment, hardware installation, and project management.
• Develop process control applications primarily utilizing Siemens and Allen Bradley.
• Troubleshoot and manage automation projects for new and existing manufacturing equipment, including SCADA (I Fix), Siemens Step 7, Siemens WinCC, and Allen Bradley Control Logix.
• Provide technical coaching and support to plant maintenance and operations teams.
• Respond to emergency calls that occur outside normal working hours.
• Lead and implement control systems upgrade and improvement projects.
• Develop procedures, documentation, and narratives for controls projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience working as a Controls Engineer.
• Proficient in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens.
• Proficient in HMI/SCADA programming and configuration of related software.
