About the position
The Software Controls Engineer at Actalent plays a pivotal role in the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of Controls & Automation projects. This position is essential for developing the digital landscape in manufacturing engineering, focusing on integrating technologies that enhance Digital Manufacturing and Predictive Analytics. The role aims to improve quality, increase throughput, and foster innovation within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of Controls & Automation projects.
- Drive the integration of technologies for Digital Manufacturing and Predictive Analytics.
- Troubleshoot complex problems and develop failsafe solutions.
- Design machine control systems and integrated automation including robotics and servo controls.
- Develop HMI operator interfaces and PLC logic programming.
- Create and maintain documentation for processes and systems.
- Facilitate projects and develop training for team members.
Requirements
- Strong technical background in programming edits, SCADA, RsLogix, PLC, and HMI.
- Experience in PLC logic programming and machine control system design.
- Proficiency in integrated automation including robotics and servo controls.
- Ability to design data collection systems and troubleshoot networking and server issues.
- Excellent technical support and continuous improvement skills.

- Experience in project facilitation and training development.
- Strong documentation creation and maintenance skills.
