About the position

The Controls Engineer will work at Lincoln Electric's Shelby Township facility, focusing on engineering specific sections of larger projects or managing small projects. The role involves designing control panels, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of designs, and coordinating with project engineers. The engineer will also participate in design reviews, document engineering records, write software, and provide support to manufacturing and field service departments.

Responsibilities

• Engineer a well-defined section of a larger project or act as a project engineer on a small project.
• Design control panels based on information from the Project Engineer, incorporating standards and formats.
• Guarantee the workability, completeness, and accuracy of all designs.
• Design all aspects of a control panel, including schematics, layouts, and Bill of Materials.
• Coordinate with the Project Engineer regarding schedule, design concepts, and status information.
• Ensure designs are consistent with other designs on the project.
• Participate in internal and external design reviews of deliverables.
• Ensure all designs meet Fori or customer standards.
• Document and maintain engineering records for incorporation into the engineer's job book.
• Write software on assigned areas, understanding ladder logic, MMI, and C++ programming.
• Perform start-up and stand-by on assigned areas, operating and debugging machinery.
• Provide engineering liaison to manufacturing and field service departments.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Experience and demonstrated proficiency in Rockwell FactoryTalk View.
• Experience and demonstrated proficiency in Rockwell Logix 5000.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience as a Controls Engineer is a plus.
