About the position

The Electrical Controls Engineer at Viskase Osceola is responsible for overseeing automation projects and process control systems. This role involves project planning, risk management, documentation, and project closure, with a strong focus on PLC and SCADA/HMI systems. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise and project management skills, aimed at continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and document production equipment and hardware installation.
• Develop process control applications using Siemens and Allen Bradley systems.
• Manage troubleshooting and automation projects for manufacturing equipment.
• Provide technical coaching and support to maintenance and operations teams.
• Respond to emergency calls outside normal working hours.
• Lead and implement upgrades and improvements to control systems.
• Develop procedures, documentation, and narratives for controls projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Controls Engineer.
• Proficient in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) such as Allen-Bradley and Siemens.
• Proficient in HMI/SCADA programming and configuration.
• Hands-on experience working on the production floor.
• Development experience with SCADA and HMI systems.
• Knowledge of controls networks and manufacturing line controls.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, time management, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Siemens Step 7 and Siemens WinCC.
• Familiarity with I Fix SCADA systems.
