About the position

The Controls Engineer position at Macawber Engineering involves designing and implementing custom-engineered pneumatic conveying systems and other industrial equipment. This role requires strong technical skills, customer service capabilities, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Responsibilities

• Design customer-specific control systems (pneumatic and electric) using Allen Bradley and other PLCs.
• Carry out equipment site commissioning and service.
• Participate in PLC/HMI projects to enhance system performance and customer interface.
• Prepare operating sequences and electro/pneumatic drawings.
• Test and troubleshoot instrumentation and programmable logic controllers.
• Provide technical after-sales support to existing customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the employer.

Requirements

• Min 2 years of experience in controls programming, preferably in industrial maintenance or engineering technology.
• Technical knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, control systems/instrumentation, and control panel wiring.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to thrive in a customer-focused environment.
• Fundamentals of basic electrical, controls, mechanics, and mathematics.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with other PLCs is a plus.
