About the position

The Control Systems Engineer oversees the operation and maintenance of various control systems essential for the continuous operation of production support equipment in a manufacturing facility. This role requires extensive knowledge of control system operation and programming to ensure the safe modification, maintenance, and interaction with control systems, including chemical delivery, detection, wastewater treatment, and security systems.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe work environment by identifying and correcting unsafe conditions and modeling the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Design, install, program, document, and troubleshoot various controllers including Allen Bradley, Siemens, Yaskawa, and Johnson Controls with user interfaces like Wonderware.
  • Measure and control incoming streams, chemical dosing for precipitation and removal of solids, precious metal recovery, and pH adjustment in an industrial wastewater treatment facility.
  • Operate and control ultra-high purity gas and liquid chemical delivery systems serving key production areas.
  • Monitor gas quality using Ametek and Horiba analyzers, communicating with an in-house designed controller for data analysis, logging, and reporting.
  • Maintain air sampling analysis systems to detect chemical leaks across more than 200 monitoring points, ensuring quick identification and response to leaks.
  • Operate and control scrubber systems to abate emissions of toxic gases and particulate matter, ensuring compliance with state permits and employee safety.
  • Support miscellaneous processes including security surveillance, process cooling water, HVAC controls, facility communication systems, notifier systems, and variable frequency drive support.
  • Complete additional projects as assigned to support production and facility operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Prior experience with Allen Bradley Process Logix Controllers (PLC), RSLogix's, Wonderware, and other logic controller software and human machine interface applications.
