About The Position

The Controls Engineer at Macawber Engineering will be responsible for designing and implementing custom-engineered pneumatic conveying systems and other industrial equipment. This role involves customer service, technical support, and occasional travel, contributing to projects across various industries including steel, chemicals, power, and food. The position requires a resourceful and competent individual who is a positive team player with strong communication skills.

Requirements

• Min 2 years of experience in controls programming, preferably in industrial maintenance or engineering technology.
• Technical knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, control systems/instrumentation, and control panel wiring.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to thrive in a customer-focused environment.
• Fundamentals of basic electrical, controls, mechanics, and mathematics.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with other PLCs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design customer-specific control systems (pneumatic and electric) using Allen Bradley and other PLCs.
• Carry out equipment site commissioning and service.
• Participate in PLC/HMI projects to enhance system performance and customer interface.
• Prepare operating sequences and electro/pneumatic drawings.
• Test and troubleshoot instrumentation and programmable logic controllers.
• Provide technical after-sales support to existing customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the employer.
