About the position

The Controls Intern position at Adient involves supporting controls-related projects for complete seat assembly equipment. The intern will work under the guidance of a controls engineer, focusing on developing and implementing controls architecture and programming. This full-time summer internship is designed for students pursuing a degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering, providing hands-on experience in a global leader in automotive seating.

Responsibilities

• Specify controls components required for the project
• Develop schematics and drawings as required
• Install and configure components
• Develop or modify PLC and/or HMI programs needed for the project
• Assist in startup and debug
• Participate in equipment design reviews, installation and debug at local complete seat plants
• Update or develop documentation related to controls standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university working towards a 4-year B.S. degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering
• Available to work up to 40 hours per week
• Minimum overall GPA of at least 3.0
• Proficient in MS Office
• Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new software/applications
• Analytical problem solving skills
• Strong communication, presentation, and teamwork skills
• Ability to write clear, concise technical documentation.

• Previous internship or co-op experience in an automotive-related position
