About the position

The Controls Project Engineer at ACES, LLC is responsible for the design and programming of building automation systems, focusing on hardware and software solutions that enhance comfort control and energy efficiency. This role involves applying engineering principles to meet project requirements, managing project commissioning and startup, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Design and program building automation systems utilizing direct digital controls for comfort and energy savings.
  • Develop sequences of operations that meet project requirements.
  • Validate engineered bill of material costs and manage vendor purchase orders under the Project Manager's direction.
  • Review contract documents and conduct job surveys to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Create installation, submittal, as-built drawings, and validate system operation.
  • Provide engineering direction and support to team members throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop control programming and graphics for control systems.
  • Assist project team with programming, electrical terminations, commissioning, graphic development, testing, and startup.
  • Provide customer training and support during project implementation.
  • Manage multiple projects while maintaining customer satisfaction and addressing concerns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a combination of three to four years' experience with controls/mechanical systems.
  • Computer programming experience is required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Project, and engineering drawing tools.
  • Familiarity with new construction, renovation/retrofit, and service project management.
  • Experienced in contracting processes associated with building automation systems and managing subcontractors.
  • Knowledgeable in using Project Management Tools.
  • Familiarity with energy management systems, HVAC systems, and temperature controls.
  • Experience with Tridium Niagara and/or Alerton.
