About the position

As a PLC Controls Technician at Nature's Bakery, you will play a crucial role in the establishment of a new manufacturing facility set to open in 2025. This position involves working with advanced technology to install, maintain, and enhance production and packaging equipment. You will contribute to the development of a world-class maintenance program, ensuring operational excellence and reliability in a high-tech environment. Responsibilities

  • Provide input to managing the controls and automation systems testing, quality control, data retrieval, and training for packaging and processing equipment.
  • Assist in managing the controls and automation interface, testing, quality control, data retrieval, and training for all packaging and processing equipment.
  • Assist with the development and modification of PLC & HMI programs.
  • Provide project engineering support to process areas.
  • Provide controls support for the manufacturing facility and assist plant mechanics in troubleshooting.
  • Ensure documentation for control/electrical system and document change control procedures.
  • Assist with the development and management of controls related capital projects.
  • Contribute to determination and maintainability of new process control systems and manage process controls change control procedures for existing equipment.

Requirements

  • Mid-level experience in electrical wiring and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
  • Understanding of automated industrial machinery, including motors, servos, pumps, drives, relays, etc.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems; packaging, conveyance, liquid and powder manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain Allen-Bradley MicroLogix and ControlLogix hardware.
  • Experience in Allen-Bradley PLC programming implementing RSLogix5, RSLogix500, and RSLogix5000 software or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication networks including Ethernet, Allen-Bradley Remote I/O, and DeviceNet communication networks.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's), and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD's).
  • Experience in PID Loop tuning and instrument calibration procedures.
  • General knowledge of the National Electrical Code.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of programming languages relevant to PLCs.
  • Experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical control systems, including PLC controls, networking, and HMI systems.
  • Experience in initiating and developing control system modifications and new projects to improve plant performance and reliability.
