About the position

The Controls Technician at Trane Technologies is responsible for commissioning, programming, and servicing HVAC and Building Controls Systems. This role involves direct customer interaction, ensuring satisfaction through effective troubleshooting and repairs, and maintaining high safety standards. The technician will work on various projects, requiring technical expertise and a commitment to continuous learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Commissioning and programming HVAC and Building Controls Systems.
• Setting up graphics and communications links for systems.
• Conducting end-to-end testing and troubleshooting on assigned projects.
• Documenting point-to-point verification and sequence of operations validation.
• Serving as the direct customer contact for servicing products and equipment.
• Coordinating with team leaders and customers to understand project requirements.
• Maintaining current knowledge of Trane products and services.
• Enforcing safety standards and maintaining accountability for company assets.
• Flexibly working overtime and occasional overnight stays as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3-5 years of experience in HVAC/Controls.
• Technical School or formal training preferred.
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
• Working proficiency with handheld computers (e.g., smartphones, iPads).
• Valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience with DDC controls systems preferred.
