About the position

The Controls Technician position at CMC involves the final checkout and start-up of control projects, as well as completing service calls related to controls. The role requires troubleshooting programming and low voltage control wiring, with a focus on teamwork and personal growth within a supportive company culture.

Responsibilities

• Complete start-up, checkout, and commissioning of control equipment for assigned projects.
• Download programs in field devices provided by engineering.
• Perform point-to-point checkout of all provided control equipment and third-party equipment.
• Complete control service calls.
• Troubleshoot and repair wiring issues.
• Manipulate control systems for programming, configuration, and graphics changes.
• Terminate control panels.
• Provide technical assistance to installation technicians.
• Assist Test and Balance.

Requirements

• Prior Tridium experience; AX/N4 certification is a plus.
• Experience with product lines such as Tridium, Honeywell, JCI, Distech, Trane, Carrier, Schneider, Siemens.
• Understanding of BAS Controls communication protocols: BACnet, Lon, Modbus.
• Basic IP networking knowledge.
• Understanding of electronic wiring and electric circuits.
• Knowledge of State and Local Electrical codes.
• Prior Controls Technician/Installation experience or equivalent training/education.
• Knowledge of Mechanical HVAC Systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Competency in Tridium, Honeywell, and Johnson FX Controls.
