About the position

The Controls Technician at Enabled Energy plays a crucial role in the delivery team, focusing on retrofitting data centers across the United States and Canada. This position involves extensive fieldwork related to airflow and energy management projects, including the installation, wiring, and troubleshooting of control equipment. The technician will spend a significant amount of time at customer sites, managing construction projects and fostering relationships with local teams, while also participating in training and development programs offered by the company.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Enabled Energy's mission and technical core solutions.
  • Support other Controls Technicians in scheduling, documentation, communication, and cost management.
  • Communicate with project team regarding scope of work, RFI's, material submittals, etc.
  • Participate in weekly staff and subcontractor meetings to coordinate project work.
  • Ensure high quality workmanship to Enabled Energy performance standards and verify that all installations have been done correctly.
  • Communicate and coordinate with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Wire EC Fans, VFDs, fuse blocks, controls, etc. prior to installation.
  • Install controls, wiring, and power components using basic hand and power tools.
  • Troubleshoot controls for EC fans, VFDs, systems, etc.
  • Complete Quality Assurance and Quality Control checklists and submit to supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years of verifiable controls experience (JCI, Metasys, Trane, Carrier, etc.).
  • Proven experience working as a field technician or field engineer.
  • Knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD or Visio is an advantage.
  • Ability to follow directions and detailed method of procedures.
  • Outstanding communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Tridium/Niagara training preferred.
  • Data Center specific certifications (DCEP, CDCP, etc.) will be an advantage.
