About the position
The Controls Technician at Actalent will be responsible for upgrading, modifying, and programming automated equipment for a global consumer product manufacturer. This role involves troubleshooting electrical issues, conducting PLC program modifications, and developing new control systems to enhance automation projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage troubleshooting/support for electrical issues on production lines and facility equipment.
- Conduct routine and advanced PLC program modifications through project upgrades and maintenance troubleshooting activities.
- Develop new control systems for automation projects.
- Lead troubleshooting for equipment PLC programs to minimize downtime.
- Create new PLC programs where necessary.
- Design and implement control systems using sensors, motion control, and feedback loops.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, preferably in Electrical Technology or Controls Systems (relevant experience may substitute for degree).
- 4-6 years of relevant electrical controls technician experience in manufacturing.
- Ability to interpret and apply NEC, NFPA, and OSHA codes.
- Familiarity with 3-phase electrical power applications.
- Experience with RS500, RS5000, Studio5000, and View Studio.
- Experience with servo motors and controls.
- Demonstrated ability with PLC troubleshooting, interface, and programming skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and prints.
