About the position

The Convenience Store Fuel Attendant position at Cain Petroleum involves providing excellent customer service while fueling vehicles and handling payment transactions. This part-time role requires availability on weekends and offers an employee advancement program. The attendant will greet customers, activate fuel pumps, and ensure a clean and safe environment at the gas station.

Responsibilities

  • Greets customers, answers questions, and provides prompt, courteous service.
  • Activates pumps and fills customer fuel tanks with the correct grade and amount of fuel, providing receipts of sale.
  • Responsible for all payment transactions with customers, mainly credit card transactions, and directing all other forms of payment to the Cashier.
  • Completes assigned cleaning responsibilities and washes windshields.
  • Reports any suspicious activity to the direct supervisor and authorities, if needed.
  • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Respectfully takes direction from supervisor/district coordinator.
  • Maintains Chevron Customer First Standards.
  • Closes the store when needed.

Requirements

  • No prior experience or training required.
  • Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Minimal computer skills necessary to operate a computer and enter information into a database.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience and/or training in a fuel/gas station environment is preferred.
