About the position
The Conversion Bag Line Operator at Petoskey Plastics is responsible for safely operating production lines, assisting other operators, and documenting production metrics. This role emphasizes quality work, safety, and effective communication within a family-oriented and growth-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely run assigned production lines in the department.
- Assist other operators on lines as needed.
- Document daily production, quality, scrap, and machine downtime.
- Troubleshoot and solve machine problems effectively.
- Attend all offered operator training classes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- 6 months of plastics experience is preferred.
- Ability to read production schedules, work orders, and procedures in English.
- Good mathematical abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and some electrical aptitude.
- Good computer skills.
- Commitment to quality work and safety.
- Demonstrate reliable and punctual attendance.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
