As a Cook at the Delta Center for the Utah Jazz and Hockey Club, you will play a vital role in preparing high-quality food items that meet the standards set by federal, state, and corporate guidelines. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all food is prepared according to standardized recipes and instructions, which will help maintain the production, delivery, and service schedules. You will be expected to serve meals or prepare them for delivery, ensuring that the correct portioning is used and that the food is served at the appropriate temperature, while also being visually appealing and delicious. Tasting all prepared food items will be part of your routine to ensure quality control. In addition to food preparation, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen. This includes cleaning the kitchen after preparation and serving, adhering to high standards of cleanliness, and properly storing or discarding excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures. You will also be tasked with keeping refrigerators and storerooms organized and clean, ensuring that food and supply items are stored according to established standards. Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment will be part of your duties, and you will assist in production planning, record keeping, and reporting as required. You will also help with the ordering and receiving of food and supplies, and it is crucial to report any maintenance needs, faulty equipment, or accidents to your supervisor immediately. Attending in-service and safety meetings will be necessary to ensure a safe working environment. Building and maintaining good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators, and managers is essential for a harmonious workplace. Lastly, you may be assigned other duties as needed, contributing to the overall success of the kitchen operations.
