You will be responsible for cooking and preparing a wide range of food items according to established production guidelines and standardized recipes. Setting up your workstation with all necessary ingredients and equipment will be a key part of your daily routine. You will prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items, ensuring that you safely use a variety of utensils, including knives. In addition to cooking, you will operate various kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers. Your culinary skills will be put to the test as you bake, roast, broil, steam, and utilize different cooking methods on meats, vegetables, and other foods. Presentation is also crucial; you will arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines, while adhering to food safety policies and procedures for proper food storage. Maintaining cleanliness is essential, so you will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, and utensils. Excellent customer service and a positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, and co-workers are expected at all times. You will also need to ensure the security of company assets and adhere to Aramark’s safety policies and procedures, including accurate food safety and sanitation practices. Responsibilities

  • Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
  • Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensures security of company assets

Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
