The Cook is responsible for implementing the center's Food Services, which includes a variety of tasks such as meal preparation and servicing, receiving and storing food and supplies, ensuring kitchen sanitation, and maintaining general records and inventory. This role is crucial in ensuring that the center adheres to all appropriate local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to the Food Services component, including USDA guidelines. The Cook plays a vital role in promoting school readiness by preparing children and families for school and life success, which is directly related to the responsibilities of this position. In addition to food preparation, the Cook is expected to actively supervise children by sight and sound at all times and in all environments. This includes maintaining all health and safety regulations to create an optimum learning environment. The Cook will also facilitate health practices to ensure the safety of children in various settings, including on the school bus and in both outdoor and indoor environments. This position requires a commitment to providing nutritious meals and a safe environment for children, contributing to their overall development and well-being.
