About The Position
This a continuous Extra Help recruitment for Cook I in the Juvenile Hall. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis and will be reviewed weekly until the current vacancy is filled. The eligibility list established from this recruitment will be used to fill current and future Extra Help vacancies as they occur over the next 12 months. The Cook I works under general supervision, prepares, cooks and serves a variety of food for regular and special diets daily within the facility. In addition to having experience in preparing and cooking food in large quantities, the ideal candidate will be passionate for food and cooking, able to obtain the Food Handler's card within six (6) months of appointment and must maintain the certificate for the duration of employment in this classification, aware of maintaining a safe, clean and sanitary environment, able to perform simple math computations in following recipes and other directions, and effective working with a wide variety of people.
