About the position

The Cook II (Advanced Line Cook) at Yaamava' Resort and Casino is responsible for preparing high-quality cuisine items under the direction of the Sous Chef. This role emphasizes adherence to approved recipes, maintaining health codes, and ensuring a positive team-oriented environment. The Cook II plays a vital role in representing the culinary team's culture and the values of the Tribal Community.

Responsibilities

• Maintains designated workstation, ensuring consistency in flavor profiles, quality, and appearance of menu items.
• Possesses advanced knowledge of food products and cooking methods, ensuring efficient service without interruption.
• Understands food rotation methods and is responsible for labeling and dating food items.
• Reports any injuries or unsafe work environment issues to management immediately.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Culinary arts degree from an accredited school preferred.
• Minimum three (3) to four (4) years' experience in high-volume line cooking or production cooking in a full-service dining establishment preferred.
• Demonstrates knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
• Capable of following procedures and taking direction.
• Possesses the ability to read recipes and production lists.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with specialty cuisine menu production preferred.
• Advanced knife skills and ability to multitask within basic cooking methods.
