About the position

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for planning, installing, and repairing electrical systems and components, ensuring compliance with safety standards and local electrical codes. This role is integral to CCI Industrial Services' mission of providing quality-driven and cost-effective services while promoting safety, innovation, and excellence in the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe work environment.
  • Participate in CCI's STEPBACK safety program and comply with online training modules in EHS.
  • Represent the Company in a professional manner at all times.
  • Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials and ensure compliance with specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Prepare sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment or follow diagrams or blueprints.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
  • Terminate wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
  • Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
  • Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems to detect hazards and need for adjustment, relocation, or replacement.
  • Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads.
  • Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments.
  • Participate in meetings and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in work.
  • Adapt to changes in work environments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A current Cook Inlet Training Standard (CITS) health & safety card, OSHA 10 hour, or 24-hour Hazwoper training is required.
  • TWIC card to be obtained upon hire if contract required.
  • Alaska Electrical Journeyman Fitness Card or an appropriate reciprocal fitness card from another state is required.
  • Medium voltage experience with knowledge of power delivery systems is required.
  • Minimum five (5) years related experience is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

  • Ability to read and interpret written information.
