The Cook position at Garfield Re-2 School District is a part-time role focused on preparing healthy, scratch-made meals for students at Rifle Middle School. This role is essential in serving approximately 1700 meals daily across multiple school locations, ensuring that students receive quality food that fuels their learning.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals from scratch for students.
- Ensure meals are nutritious and meet health standards.
- Assist in menu planning and food preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Serve meals to students in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably in a school or institutional setting.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Nice-to-haves
- Culinary certification or training.
