About the position

The Cook position at Outback Steakhouse involves preparing, portioning, and cooking food items to meet the restaurant's quality standards. The role emphasizes safe food handling, cleanliness, and sanitation, ensuring that each customer enjoys an AUS-SOME dining experience. Cooks will work in a well-designed kitchen with various cooking stations and are expected to collaborate with team members to maintain high standards in food preparation and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the preparation of food items according to the menu.
  • Maintain equipment and cleanliness of the kitchen environment.
  • Work as a team to achieve standards in food preparation and delivery.
  • Commit to safe food handling, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards during the shift.
  • Prepare food with proper safety equipment, tools, and recipe specifications under management direction.
  • Practice food safety and sanitation, restocking kitchen and cook line as needed throughout the shift.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold environments.
  • Ability to walk, stand, or bend for long periods while performing essential job duties.
  • Vision abilities to include distance, close, color, depth, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus.
