About the position

Amentum is seeking a Cook to support a Facilities O&M Services Contract, responsible for culinary operations in a banquet/buffet style setting. The Cook will ensure safety and compliance with health regulations while preparing and serving meals, maintaining food inventories, and collaborating with the Executive Chef and other kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe workplace and prioritize safety in all operations.
• Comply with Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
• Follow US Public Health Service and Food and Drug Administration guidelines.
• Adhere to site policies and procedures.
• Execute tasks as instructed by the Executive Chef.
• Prepare and follow predetermined recipes for the weekly menu.
• Cook and serve menu items during dining hours.
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other cooks in meal preparation.
• Provide daily feedback to the Executive Chef.
• Stock, rotate, and maintain food inventories accurately.
• Store food items at appropriate temperatures according to health codes.
• Prepare, clean, and restock dining and kitchen areas for subsequent shifts.
• Set up and serve meals in non-typical dining areas as needed.
• Work with the O&M supervisor on equipment and facility issues.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience as a Cook in the restaurant industry with banquet/buffet style cooking.
• Applicable certifications in culinary arts.
• Ability to read, follow, and execute standardized recipes.
• Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures.
• Teamwork skills in a busy kitchen environment.
• Current Serve Safe Certification or ability to obtain it.
• Computer literacy for online training and communication.
• Valid Driver's license from the applicant's home state.
