As a Cook at Shawnee Hills Senior Living, you will play a vital role in our community by preparing high-quality food that meets the dietary needs of our residents. Your main responsibilities will include the preparation of meals following standard recipes and special diet orders, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. You will work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage and the Sous Chef to manage all aspects of food and supply management. This includes securing items in time for food preparation, ensuring that leftovers are stored correctly, and maintaining accurate inventories. Your ability to communicate clearly and work cohesively with other restaurant team members will be essential in creating a positive dining experience for our residents. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, organized, and professional, with the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong customer service skills are also required to ensure that our residents feel valued and cared for during their dining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of high-quality food following standard recipes and special diet orders.
  • Manage all aspects of food and supply management including securing items in time for food prep.
  • Ensure leftovers are stored correctly and inventories are maintained.
  • Communicate clearly and work cohesively with other restaurant team members.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience working in all stations of a hotel kitchen, a restaurant, or a similar operation.
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling standards.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work cohesively with other restaurant team members.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and professional with the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Strong customer service skills.
