About the position

The Cooler/Forklift Operator position at Texas Star Nut and Food Co., Inc. involves managing the receipt, storage, and retrieval of products in a cooler/refrigerated area. The role is essential for maintaining inventory organization and ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards. This full-time position operates on a day shift schedule, requiring physical activity and the ability to work in varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, and pull product from the cooler and warehouse.
• Maintain organization of warehoused products and assist with inventory management.
• Locate and stage product/ingredients for daily production runs.
• Use a handheld scanner to complete system transactions and maintain updated inventory counts.
• Communicate inventory discrepancies to supervisors.
• Notify supervisors of low or excessive inventory quantities.
• Utilize hand trucks and forklifts to move materials in confined areas.
• Ensure materials are tagged appropriately and prepare tags for missing information.
• Store products properly in the cooler upon receipt.
• Maintain proper stacking and location of ingredients/products.
• Meet performance and safety standards, including temperature controls and cleaning guidelines.
• Assist with shipping and receiving processes as needed.
• Notify personnel of maintenance issues and food safety concerns.

Requirements

• Must have a valid Forklift Certification.
• Punctual and dependable work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic mathematics skills and proficiency in production software applications.
• Basic MS Office skills, including knowledge of Excel.
• Knowledge of warehouse organization and material flows.
• Ability to comply with safety and cleanliness requirements.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with electric forklifts (1 year preferred).
