About the position

The Career Pathway Navigator (CPN) is responsible for providing direct services to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting them in career planning and securing competitive integrated employment. Reporting to the Coordinated Career Pathways (CCP) Manager, the CPN will develop Person-Centered Career Plans (PCCP) and support individuals in navigating employment-related services and supports. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, a comprehensive understanding of service delivery systems, and the ability to utilize digital tools to enhance service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Integrated Resources Institute and the hiring of individuals with disabilities or those economically disadvantaged.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify job seekers' interests, strengths, skills, and preferences.
  • Develop a Person-Centered Career Plan (PCCP) for employment and community engagement.
  • Support individuals in goal setting and monitoring their own progress.
  • Attend IPP and IEP planning meetings as requested.
  • Provide 1:1 guidance on career pathway options and resources.
  • Assist individuals and families in navigating employment-related services and supports.
  • Review and reassess progress monthly with individuals.
  • Facilitate networking opportunities, including job fairs and industry events.
  • Coordinate workshops on resume writing, interview skills, and job search strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, with at least three years' experience in developmental disabilities; or an associate's degree with at least five years' experience.
  • Completed training in person-centered thinking/planning.
  • ACRE certification required with an emphasis on Customized Employment Support Professionals or CESP certification.
  • Comprehensive understanding of service delivery systems and social security benefits.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism in employment situations.
  • Ability to network and conduct outreach with stakeholders.
  • Excellent organization and writing skills.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and online platforms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Job development and on-the-job support experience preferred.
  • Positive behavior support training preferred.
