United Way of Dane County has been tackling Dane County's toughest challenges for 100 years. To facilitate this, we follow our Plan for Community Well-Being, which outlines six community goals focused on priority areas of Early Childhood, Education, Income that supports Housing, and Health - the building blocks of a stable life. Each of these goals is achieved through collective impact, the implementation of United Way initiatives and community-based programs operated by our agency partners. Achieving our mission means being an equity leader and striving for outcomes that reflect a more inclusive community. United Way of Dane County recognizes racism as a public health crisis, understands it is the root cause of inequity in our society and stands in total opposition to all acts of racism and discrimination. Our IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access) Statement reflects our commitment to support transformative social change and to address structural inequities and oppression. The Achievement Connections AmeriCorps Program (AC) is a dynamic community partnership which has developed an evidence-based model of tutoring intervention fueled by impassioned AmeriCorps members and committed community volunteers. Its mission is to work with school staff to provide algebra and geometry tutoring support aimed at improving the academic achievement of low-performing high school students from a range of racial, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds and low-income families. The program serves high school students in Madison and Middleton, Wisconsin. The Coordinator, Achievement Connections will help advance the United Way of Dane County's Achievement Connections AmeriCorps program by supporting AmeriCorps volunteers, members, and the overall project. This is a 1-year grant funded position with an end date of August 14, 2025, with potential for extension depending on grant funding continuation.
