The Pittsburgh Pirates are seeking a Coordinator of Benefits to join their People & Culture team. This temporary part-time position is essential in assisting with various aspects of benefits administration, including benefits enrollment, addressing employee inquiries, verifying insurance billing, and maintaining employee databases and files. The Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with required benefit notices and will actively participate in the day-to-day operations of the People & Culture Department. In this role, the Coordinator will administer a variety of employee benefits programs, which include group health insurance, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision plans, accident and disability insurance, life insurance, 401(k) plans, and wellness benefits. The Coordinator will conduct benefits orientations to educate employees about the benefits self-enrollment system and will maintain organized filing systems for employee benefits. It is vital that benefits changes are accurately entered into the payroll system to ensure correct payroll deductions. The Coordinator will assist employees with claims related to health, dental, life, and other benefits, and will verify the accuracy of monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies. Additionally, the Coordinator will maintain statistical data related to premiums, claims, and costs, and will resolve any administrative issues with carrier representatives. Responsibilities also include administering COBRA, reviewing and responding to unemployment claims, and coordinating workers' compensation claims with third-party administrators. The Coordinator will ensure compliance with federal and state laws, including the Affordable Care Act, COBRA, HIPAA, and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). Furthermore, the Coordinator will manage Paid Time Off, FMLA, and various leaves, including Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, while ensuring the distribution of required employee notices and performing other duties as assigned.
