About the position

The Coordinator, Campus Security & Preparedness Program & Operations is responsible for overseeing security operations and safety initiatives across multiple campuses of Front Range Community College. This role involves coordinating with the Director of Campus Security and Preparedness, managing security personnel, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The position emphasizes creating a safe and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and visitors, while also supporting the college's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate program activities for the Campus Security & Preparedness Office, regularly communicating with the Director about planning and operational matters.
  • Coordinate the CSP department calendars, scheduling meetings and appointments for staff members as requested.
  • Draft and prepare letters, correspondence, special reports, and presentations.
  • Prepare and process documents such as contracts, purchase orders, mileage forms, and expense vouchers.
  • Coordinate onboarding plans for CSP new employees.
  • Manage electronic security systems, including access control, ID cards, and mass communication systems.
  • Collect data, generate and review reports and logs.
  • Assist area shift supervisors with conducting fire drills, managing evacuation procedures, and maintaining records in accordance with Colorado Fire Code.
  • Serve on the Emergency Response Management Team.
  • In collaboration with shift supervisors, coordinate schedules of security staff, helping to ensure appropriate amount of campus coverage.
  • Assume the role of Campus Security Authority (CSA) and coordinate the College's Clery Act Compliance program at all FRCC campuses.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain crime data from campus security, local law enforcement, and other relevant sources.
  • Monitor and update the department's budget, including tracking allocations and maintaining documentation.
  • Prepare and process documents, including contracts, PO's, mileage and expense vouchers.
  • Manage inventory by monitoring stock levels, anticipating needs, placing orders, and reconciling expenses.
  • Coordinate training calendars, monitoring and updating training database.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree and 3 years of program support or office administration to include project coordination, or five (5) years of program support or office administration to include project coordination.
  • Current/Valid Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices related to facilities and personal security/safety techniques and design.
