About the position

The Coordinator of Community Engagement at the University of Central Oklahoma is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing activities and programs related to student organizations and leadership initiatives. This role involves overseeing community service events, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance and safety in activities. The coordinator will also advise student groups, maintain communication with various stakeholders, and support the mission of the office through community connections and volunteer recruitment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage activities, programs, and services related to student organizations and leadership programs.
  • Create and execute short and long-term plans for programs aligned with university goals.
  • Provide information and resources for students, parents, and staff regarding campus programs and service opportunities.
  • Oversee the development and authorization of department budgets and expenditures.
  • Manage logistics, publicity, and recruitment for Community Engagement service events.
  • Advise UCO Alternative Breaks, including trip leader selection and training.
  • Coordinate the President's Club Children's Community Party and manage related budgets.
  • Supervise the Central Pantry and its student interns, facilitating volunteer recruitment and inventory control.
  • Build connections with community agencies and recruit volunteers for service events.
  • Maintain communication with campus constituents about service opportunities and community needs.
  • Participate in strategic and budget planning for the office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a job-related field plus 3+ years of work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred with related experience in a higher education setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and evaluating service-based programs.
  • Budget management experience.
