About the position

The Construction Coordinator (or Sr. Construction Coordinator) is responsible for planning, scheduling, and managing multiple capital and operational construction and maintenance projects, particularly in the natural gas industry. This role involves supervising major pipeline construction projects, assisting regional maintenance staff, and ensuring projects meet customer needs and expectations while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development and execution of natural gas, oil, and civil projects including high-pressure gas and liquid transmission pipelines.
  • Provide leadership in project planning, scheduling, and prioritization of tasks, ensuring safety and reliability.
  • Assist in preparing project scopes, cost estimates, bidding, budgeting, and execution plans for capital and maintenance projects.
  • Oversee and manage contractors and construction inspectors to ensure project schedules and budgets are met.
  • Coordinate the bidding process with contractors and vendors to ensure competitive costing.
  • Interact with contractors throughout all phases of project construction and commissioning.
  • Complete project documentation to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
  • Train construction inspectors and contractors on safety and operational procedures.
  • Regularly update management on project progress and potential issues.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or certificate in Civil, Mechanical, Petroleum, or Chemical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in construction management of natural gas or hazardous liquid pipeline projects.
  • Strong project management skills including cost and schedule control, design and construction management, and resource planning.
  • Understanding of corporate policies and procedures related to pipeline operations.
  • Familiarity with applicable regulations such as DOT and OSHA, and industry standards like API and ASTM.
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Training in project management software (CADD) and techniques.
  • Knowledge of natural gas and oil pipeline operations.
  • Experience with FERC pipeline projects.
