About the position

The Emerging Media Program Coordinator P/T position is a vital role within the Workforce Development department at Lake-Sumter State College. This part-time position is designed to assist in the development of Digital Media Production CCC courses and future Emerging Media AS degrees and courses. The coordinator will provide subject matter expertise, ensuring that the curriculum aligns with industry standards and meets the needs of local media companies. This role is expected to encompass up to 10 hours of work per week and will conclude on June 30, 2025, or later based on mutual agreement between the candidate and departmental needs. In this position, the coordinator will be responsible for conducting academic program and curriculum content research and design. This includes outreach to external stakeholders, particularly local media companies, to gather insights on their training needs, program expectations, and the skills required for employee preparation. The coordinator will translate these employer needs into actionable coursework, creating a crosswalk that aligns educational outcomes with industry requirements. Additionally, the coordinator will be expected to demonstrate Lake-Sumter State College's core values of Caring, Communicating, Collaborating, and Celebrating in all aspects of their work. The role may also involve performing other duties as assigned, which could include administrative tasks or additional outreach efforts to enhance the program's visibility and effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in digital and emerging media, along with the ability to manage time effectively and produce professional documentation.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in curriculum and program design and management.
  • Higher education experience is a plus.
  • Digital media production experience.
