About the position

The Coordinator, Event Marketing at Daytona International Speedway plays a crucial role in the Southeast Region Event Marketing team, focusing on the development and execution of promotional campaigns aimed at increasing awareness and maximizing ticket sales for NASCAR-owned tracks in the Southeastern Region, including Daytona International Speedway, Homestead-Miami Speedway, and Talladega Superspeedway. This position is integral to ensuring a best-in-class guest experience during major racing events, including the iconic DAYTONA 500 and other significant racing weekends. The ideal candidate will be expected to think strategically and creatively, balancing multiple responsibilities while collaborating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. In this role, the Coordinator will support the execution of various campaign deliverables, particularly for the DAYTONA 500 and Speedweeks. They will serve as the primary point of contact for promotions, radio interviews, and on-site radio remotes during race weekends. The position also involves developing, planning, and managing promotional strategies for events such as Daytona International Speedway Tours and the Fall Cycle Scene, as well as collaborating with the Event Marketing team to strategize for Bike Week. The Coordinator will manage and lead the execution of all marketing deliverables, including photography and asset management across DAYTONA events and marketing campaigns. Additionally, the Coordinator will support the Southeast Region Event Experience team with special projects during event weekends and manage marketing deliverables for various non-NASCAR events, such as concerts and other sporting events at the Speedways throughout the year. They will be responsible for creating and distributing marketing assets for local marketing activation programs and assisting Client Services and the Event Marketing team with marketing and sponsor deliverables. This role requires managing timelines, assets, and creative deliverables for pre-event communication, as well as brainstorming and executing a comprehensive grassroots and in-market strategy for Daytona International Speedway. The position involves approximately 20% travel, including some weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of DAYTONA 500 / Speedweeks campaign deliverables as assigned.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all promotions, radio interviews and radio remotes on-site during race weekends.
  • Develop, plan and manage the promotional strategy and execution for Daytona International Speedway Tours and Fall Cycle Scene.
  • Collaborate with the Event Marketing team to develop and plan the promotional strategy for Bike Week.
  • Manage and lead the execution of all marketing deliverables.
  • Photography and asset management across DAYTONA events and marketing campaigns.
  • Support the Southeast Region Event Experience team with special projects and/or other duties as assigned during event/race weekends.
  • Manage and execute all marketing deliverables for various non-NASCAR events e.g., concerts and other sporting events happening at the Speedways throughout the year.
  • Manage the creation and distribution of marketing assets for our local marketing activation program.
  • Assist Client Services and the Event Marketing team with marketing and sponsor deliverables - e.g., contracts, signage and venue deliverables.
  • Responsible for managing timelines, assets and creative deliverables for pre-event communication.
  • Work in conjunction with the Southeast Region Event Experience team to brainstorm, plan and execute a comprehensive grassroots and in-market strategy for Daytona International Speedway.

Requirements

  • College degree, preferably in related business field, i.e., Marketing, Sports Management.
  • Minimum two to three years event and/or marketing experience preferred; sports marketing or event marketing experience is a significant plus.
  • Ability to work through problem solving and think strategically is a must.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and can take a project from conception to completion.
  • Strong ability to think creatively and develop new processes and ideas to be more efficient.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with outstanding communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to multi-task; you will be working across a number of activities with tight deadlines.
