About the position

The Coordinator, Event Marketing plays a vital role within the Southeast Region Event Marketing team at NASCAR, specifically at the Daytona International Speedway. This position is responsible for the development and execution of promotional campaigns aimed at increasing awareness and maximizing ticket sales for NASCAR-owned tracks in the Southeastern Region, which includes Daytona International Speedway, Homestead-Miami Speedway, and Talladega Superspeedway. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic and creative mindset, capable of balancing multiple responsibilities while collaborating effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. This role is based at the Daytona International Speedway and supports all three tracks in the region. Key responsibilities include supporting the execution of the DAYTONA 500 and Speedweeks campaign deliverables, serving as the primary point of contact for promotions and radio interviews during race weekends, and managing the promotional strategy for various events such as Daytona International Speedway Tours and Fall Cycle Scene. The Coordinator will also collaborate with the Event Marketing team to develop promotional strategies for Bike Week and manage the execution of marketing deliverables for various non-NASCAR events, including concerts and other sporting events at the Speedways throughout the year. Additionally, the role involves photography and asset management across DAYTONA events and marketing campaigns, assisting Client Services with marketing and sponsor deliverables, and managing timelines and creative deliverables for pre-event communication. The Coordinator will work closely with the Southeast Region Event Experience team to brainstorm and execute a comprehensive grassroots and in-market strategy for Daytona International Speedway. This position requires travel of approximately 20%, including some weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of DAYTONA 500 / Speedweeks campaign deliverables as assigned.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all promotions, radio interviews and radio remotes on-site during race weekends.
  • Develop, plan and manage the promotional strategy and execution for Daytona International Speedway Tours and Fall Cycle Scene.
  • Collaborate with the Event Marketing team to develop and plan the promotional strategy for Bike Week.
  • Manage and lead the execution of all marketing deliverables for Bike Week.
  • Photography and asset management across DAYTONA events and marketing campaigns.
  • Support the Southeast Region Event Experience team with special projects and/or other duties as assigned during event/race weekends.
  • Manage and execute all marketing deliverables for various non-NASCAR events e.g., concerts and other sporting events happening at the Speedways throughout the year.
  • Manage the creation and distribution of marketing assets for our local marketing activation program.
  • Assist Client Services and the Event Marketing team with marketing and sponsor deliverables - e.g., contracts, signage and venue deliverables.
  • Responsible for managing timelines, assets and creative deliverables for pre-event communication.
  • Work in conjunction with the Southeast Region Event Experience team to brainstorm, plan and execute a comprehensive grassroots and in-market strategy for Daytona International Speedway.

Requirements

  • College degree, preferably in related business field, i.e., Marketing, Sports Management.
  • Minimum two to three years event and/or marketing experience preferred; sports marketing or event marketing experience is a significant plus.
  • Ability to work through problem solving and think strategically is a must.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and can take a project from conception to completion.
  • Strong ability to think creatively and develop new processes and ideas to be more efficient.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with outstanding communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to multi-task; you will be working across a number of activities with tight deadlines.
