About the position

The Coordinator for Undergraduate Student Senate Operations at Virginia Tech is responsible for providing fiscal oversight and supporting the daily operations of the Undergraduate Student Senate (USS). This role aims to develop student leaders and ensure the organization operates in alignment with Virginia Tech's values of servant leadership and community principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide fiscal oversight to the Undergraduate Student Senate and its related committees.
• Support the daily operations of the Undergraduate Student Senate.
• Develop student leaders within the organization.
• Demonstrate commitment to social justice, diversity, and inclusion in all activities.
• Mentor students to promote their success and learning.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience in student affairs or higher education.
• Experience in budget tracking and management and customer service.
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment.
• Above-average communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of accounts payable, general ledger, and generally accepted accounting principles.
• Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field.
• Experience advising student organizations and working with university policy.
• Proven experience with organization budgeting and financial planning.
• Familiarity with Banner Finance, HokieMart, Chrome River, or similar software.
