About the position

The Coordinator for the Hope & Healing Program at United Way of South Hampton Roads plays a crucial role in addressing community violence and supporting the coalition's initiatives. This position involves liaising with coalition members and grantees, facilitating community engagement, and ensuring the effective implementation of programs aimed at improving lives and fostering community resilience. The Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Healthy Communities to drive measurable impact through collaboration and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Coalition members and grantees to offer continuous support and guidance.
  • Run coalition convenings and develop monitoring tools such as logic models and data analysis plans.
  • Manage and conduct Mental Health First Aid and trauma-focused trainings for the community.
  • Attend community events related to hope and healing programs.
  • Establish key contractual documentation with department leadership and operations.
  • Collect and organize contact information related to partnerships and committee participation.
  • Record, prepare, and distribute minutes for coalition meetings and health-related initiatives.
  • Assist coalition members in developing and monitoring logic models and reports related to programs and funding.
  • Liaise with local government officials on health-related topics as needed.
  • Ensure effective data collection and streamline organizational reporting processes.

Requirements

  • Background in social work, psychology, family services, or education.
  • Familiarity with asset-based approaches to community development and corporate philanthropy.
  • Experience in group facilitation and managing staff or volunteers for community initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
  • Experience in collective impact and building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
