About the position

The Marketing Coordinator at Simon Property Group plays a crucial role in supporting the Director of Marketing/Business Development and other team members in executing mall marketing programs, community relations, and retailer engagement. This position involves managing the gift card program, coordinating events, and ensuring effective communication with tenants and the community to enhance the mall's marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison to tenants for SBV initiatives including gift card, tourism initiatives, events, and special promotions.
  • Maintain the gift card program and train guest services associates on its management.
  • Understand and follow policies and procedures for marketing initiatives.
  • Assist in on-site management of center events, promotions, and sponsorships, including pre and post-event follow-up.
  • Implement platform programs professionally and assist in measuring results.
  • Maintain the professional appearance of common areas, including marketing materials and displays.
  • Market the center to tenants and customers to improve perceptions.
  • Act as hotel liaison for Shop and Stay Packages, Group Tours, and Programs.
  • Coordinate the Customer Service Initiative across the property.
  • Participate in community-centric events and networking opportunities.
  • Assist with ordering, installation, and de-installation of collateral for events and promotions.
  • Complete and submit reports and surveys related to events and promotions.
  • Assist the Director with materials and presentations for trade shows.
  • Grow retailer participation in corporate and local events, including military discount programs and coupon books.
  • Provide support to co-workers and other departments as needed.
  • Maintain the mall website, social media communications, and collateral material.

Requirements

  • College degree preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in sales, sponsorship, strategic marketing, event management, and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of retail management, marketing, tour operators, and meeting planners.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Event planning experience.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound fiscal management and budgeting skills.
  • Excellent word processing, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends and evenings.
